Although initially established in 1992 in Eastern Championship Wrestling, the ECW World Heavyweight Championship's true lineage didn't begin until THAT famous moment in 1994 that saw the establishment of Extreme Championship Wrestling.

The belt would remain ECW's top title until the promotion shuttered in 2001 and it would have more of an infamous run when WWE relaunched ECW in 2006.

Regardless, though, the ECW World Heavyweight Championship remains one of the most prestigious titles in pro wrestling history.
