Report: Raw Talents Hoping WWE Reconsider Holding Crown Jewel In Saudi Arabia

Amidst ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, some WWE talents are hoping the company seriously reconsider holding the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.

That is according to WRKD Wrestling, who reported: "With the escalating Saudi Arabia travel advisory issued over the weekend, talk backstage at Raw between talent has some of them stating they hope the WWE seriously reconsiders the upcoming Crown Jewel event in November."

Crown Jewel is currently scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 7. The recently updated official travel advisory from the United States Department of State, however, has told those planning to travel to Saudi Arabia to reconsider doing so due to "risk of Iranian drone and missile targeting of American interests, armed conflict, terrorism, exit bans, and local laws regarding social media activity. Some areas have increased risk."

In addition to the Iran-US war, the Houthis in Yemen claimed over the weekend to have carried out drone and ballistic missile attacks against Riyadh and energy sites on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. The Houthi claim came after smoke could be seen rising from Riyadh airport. The Iran-backed Houthis have been locked in a civil war with the Saudi-backed Yemen government since 2014.

Even if Crown Jewel is moved from Saudi Arabia, it has been reported that the expectation is the event will still be held on November 7 due to WWE committing to that date with ESPN. The pay-per-view will, once again, be built around matches between WWE's world champions.
